Hi there! I’m here to tell you about Treedom Villas and Vardos, a magical place where nature and luxury meet.
At Treedom, we believe in the power of slowing down and connecting with the environment. Our passion for the planet and the beauty of slow living inspired us to create this one-of-a-kind getaway.
When you step into Treedom, you’ll feel a sense of happiness and relaxation that can only be found in a place untouched by the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a place where you can truly unwind and let go.
Imagine a haven of luxury and boho-chic living, surrounded by nature’s wonders. That’s Treedom. It’s a dream come true for those who seek both comfort and a deeper connection with the world around them.
But Treedom is more than just a resort. It’s a sanctuary, a place where strangers become friends. When you arrive here, you’ll be welcomed with open arms and treated like family. Our co-owner and founder, Debbie Nortje, says it best: “We’re not a resort – we’re a sanctuary, where you arrive a stranger and leave a friend.”
Imagine staying in a luxurious villa nestled right in the heart of a forest. That’s exactly what you’ll experience at Treedom. We currently have one exclusive villa that can accommodate four people, and we have plans to build more unique units in the future, inspired by Gypsy Wagons.
The Treedom Villa offers a truly special setting. It’s an open and spacious double-volume space, designed to maximize your connection with nature. The large windows bring in the beauty of the untouched wilderness, creating a breathtaking view.
After a day filled with exciting outdoor activities like mountain biking, boating, canoeing, or horseback riding, you’ll be able to unwind and recharge in the villa. The comfort of a four-poster queen bed awaits you, complete with luxurious 100% cotton linen. It’s the perfect recipe for a restful and rejuvenating sleep.
When you enter the loft, you’ll find two comfortable beds that can be converted into a king-size bed if needed. The lounge area is designed for ultimate relaxation, complete with a cozy couch, a fireplace, luxurious throws, and a large screen TV with DSTV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. You can unwind on your private patio, swaying gently on the modern floating daybed while enjoying a good book and taking in the beautiful scenery.
As you cook in the fully equipped kitchen, adorned with Moroccan tiles and state-of-the-art cookware, you can listen to the delightful melodies of birds. End your day by dining alfresco at the exquisitely handcrafted dining table. Alternatively, you can have a barbecue downstairs in the outdoor forest lounge.
Every detail of the Villa was carefully considered by its owners, Debbie and Marc, who wanted to create a space that exudes relaxation and luxury. They wanted their guests to feel completely at home while being treated to the utmost comfort and care.
Seven years ago, I had a brilliant idea. You see, I’m a trained chef, an African tour guide, and a VIP Events Director. My experiences with people, travel, and culture sparked something inside me – a project that would grow and flourish into something truly amazing.
I can pinpoint the exact moment of inspiration. It was when I discovered Pete Nelson from Treehouse Masters. His love for living among the trees and his infectious personality struck a chord with me. From that moment, I knew that I wanted to create a forest sanctuary, a place where I could live and be one with the trees.
‘After spending countless years in the events industry and designing numerous opulent venues, I had a strong intuition that our very own “treehouse” would be a celebration of texture, patterns, luxury, and radiance. Our goal was to elicit awe and wonder from guests as they wandered through the Villa, prompting an enthusiastic “ooooo and aaahhh.” Collaborating with Kate Shepherd from Something Desired on the decor and interiors has been an enchanting experience, surpassing even our wildest expectations,’ Debbie enthuses.
When you experience Debbie’s work, it’s like seeing her heart in action. She has a special way of creating an immersive, captivating, and magical experience that brings joy and happiness.
Debbie’s husband, Marc, is her trusted partner in this endeavor. Together, they have created something truly extraordinary and unforgettable. Marc is known for his outgoing nature and his kind and friendly demeanor. He always greets requests with a smile and never hesitates to go the extra mile. “Whether you’re a famous actor or just a neighbor, we treat everyone with the same respect and equality,” he says.
Treedom came to life thanks to Pike’s Construction, a company based in Wilderness. “When the dream of Treedom was first presented to us, we knew immediately that we had to do something extraordinary to preserve the pristine forest and keep the magic alive. Instead of building roads, we decided to create enchanting footpaths. However, this meant that we had to carry everything up and down the steep Treedom pathways, including the heavy cement blocks. Was it worth it? If you have to ask, it means you haven’t yet experienced the wondrous freedom of Treedom,” explain Fanie and Fika Pike, the owners.
The Villa is a self-catering accommodation that can accommodate up to four people. It features one queen bed and two single beds, providing a comfortable stay for guests.
Pricing: Starting from R2,600 per night.
Upon arrival, guests will receive a welcome pack filled with delicious home-baked treats. Additionally, they will find honey, milk, yogurt, and butter sourced from our neighbor’s farm, as well as eggs from our own hens.
Guests are also welcome to harvest fresh produce from our vegetable garden to use in their meals. If desired, our skilled chef, Debbie, can also prepare meals for our guests.
Treedom is conveniently located near Wilderness town, a petrol station, a shop, and a beautiful lake that is just minutes away. Our guests can easily access the lake using our personal Jeep 4×4 buggy.
