I decided to bypass the hotel’s dinner option and venture on a little journey (which took us about 15 minutes) to Noordhoek. Our destination: the famous Foodbarn located in the charming Noordhoek Farm Village. We opted for their summer bistro menu – a delightful three-course meal at R220. Let me tell you, it was absolutely heavenly!

For starters, I indulged in prawn fritters accompanied by a mouthwatering combination of coriander samoosas and harissa mayo. It was a burst of flavor that left me craving for more. Moving on to the main course, I savored every bite of the mussel, lemon, and calamari risotto. It was a true masterpiece of taste.

Now, let’s talk about dessert because it was simply incredible. Picture this: a delectable combination of shortbread, raspberries, crème anglaise, and passion fruit ice cream. Each spoonful was like taking a bite out of paradise. Meanwhile, my boyfriend couldn’t resist the temptation of the dark chocolate marquise and indulged in its rich goodness.

The following morning, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast overlooking the cloudy sky and the grey sea dotted with surfers. The buffet offered an array of pastries, fruits, and cheeses. We savored our smoked salmon scrambled eggs while leisurely flipping through the Sunday papers. Every now and then, we paused to watch a surfer ride a wave, completely embracing the relaxed atmosphere of a vacation. Although it had only been a short weekend getaway, it felt like we had been away for an entire week.
