When I step into The Kraal, I’m instantly transported to a serene Mediterranean oasis. The charming ambience is created by the old, whitewashed stone walls that surround me. As I make my way to the dining area, I’m greeted by long wooden tables nestled under shady umbrellas and fruit trees. The views of the sprawling 30-hectare farm are simply breathtaking. The majority of the land is covered in lush vineyards, but there are also vegetable gardens, orchards, and even free-range livestock. The farm is dotted with ancient oak trees and patches of the rare and beautiful renosterveld.

A true farm-to-fork experience

Hey there! I want to tell you about this awesome farm-to-table restaurant. The menu is all about fresh, local, and organic ingredients. They even grow some of their own produce right on the farm! How cool is that? They also bake their own bread every day and get other ingredients from nearby farms. It’s all about supporting local and sustainable agriculture.

What’s a party without some drinks? Joostenberg has an amazing selection of organic wines that go perfectly with your meal. They offer a wide range of wines, from the newest vintages to older, specially stored bottles and unique small-batch varieties like the Kaalgat Steen, which has a beautiful orange hue. They even make their own sparkling wine, the NIU Chenin Blanc CC, with the help of Spanish cava producers. And if beer is more your style, they have a great selection of craft beers too.
