Hopefield Fynbos Show

The lowdown: Every spring (since 1989), the whole town of Hopefield comes together to create and manage this incredible fynbos display. They collect plant specimens from the surrounding areas and showcase them in one indoor venue, similar to London’s Chelsea Flower Show. You can explore the exhibit and learn about over 500 different plant species. But that’s not all! There are also local craft and food stalls, a braai and beer tent, a tea garden, live music, sheep-shearing demonstrations, and even tractor rides. It’s a fun-filled event for the whole family!

Clanwilliam Wildflower Show

Rev your engines, because Knysna is revving up for a heart-pumping event – the Knysna Speed Festival! If you’re a fan of all things fast and furious, this festival is tailor-made for you.
Imagine witnessing jaw-dropping races on a thrilling 1.9km hillside track. You’ll see drivers from all skill levels zooming by in an exciting array of vehicles, from supercars and sports cars to modified street cars and vintage classics. Last year, there was even a bakkie in the mix – how cool is that?
Classic Car Friday is a crowd favorite, where both drivers and spectators dress up in fabulous vintage outfits. Keep your eyes peeled, because you might just spot some famous racing drivers and celebrities too!
If you want to get up close to the action, head over to the Fan Fest at Knysna High School. You’ll have the chance to check out the vehicles, indulge in delicious food and drinks, and enjoy other exciting activities. Plus, there’s even pit access or grandstand seating available for an upgraded experience.
Here’s a fun fact: the current record on the course is a mind-boggling 34 seconds, achieved by Andre Bezuidenhout in 2022 while going at a heart-stopping speed of 200km/h! Now that’s some serious speed.

Whether you prefer the Classic route (68km), the more challenging Hero route (170km) for serious competitors, or the exhilarating Nova route (170km) designed for gravel bikers, there’s something for everyone at Eroica SA.
Highlights The excitement begins on Friday with an exhibition showcasing meticulously restored vintage bikes. Then, on Saturday night, you can indulge in a food market filled with delectable treats and refreshing beverages.
