When my family moved from Belgium to the Elgin Valley in 2002, we inherited an apple farm with breathtaking views. Little did we know that this humble farm would transform into a charming boutique wine estate. With 15 hectares of vineyards and pockets of apple orchards, our estate now produces elegant wines in a picturesque setting. And if you’re feeling hungry, we have the perfect solution – a fabulous platter filled with charcuterie, olives, melba toast, and delectable cheeses like Langbaken Karoo Crumble and Dalewood Camembert. If you’re looking for a legendary spot to grab a delicious pie, then Peregrine is your go-to place. Known for its mouth-watering venison pies and a variety of other options, Peregrine has been a staple of road trips on the N2 since 1964. The Burl family, who created the original pies, renovated the farmstall in 2015. They added a new eatery and deck, along with a collection of charming pop-up shops and a takeaway coffee and pie hatch. All of this can be enjoyed while sitting on the grassy lawn by the rose nursery.

But if you’re not in the mood for a pie (although it’s hard to resist that crispy pastry and succulent meat), don’t worry – Peregrine has a diverse menu of country-style dishes. You can feast on juicy burgers, fresh salads, classic fish and chips, toasted sandwiches, and delightful quiches. And if you’re an early bird or just love breakfast at any time of the day, they have an all-day breakfast menu to satisfy your cravings.
