In the space where Active Sushi used to be, this little restaurant is quickly gaining a reputation for serving delicious food in a super-cool setting – I personally love the unique collage of plates on the ultramarine wall that looks like a whale. But let’s not forget about the sushi… They have options for everyone, including those following the Banting diet with zero-rice rolls. If you’re a pescatarian, you’ll be thrilled with the Cry Roll, which includes smoked salmon, wasabi, rice, seaweed, and sesame seeds. And if you’re a vegan, you’re in luck too! They have a new tempura range that combines tofu, avo, radish, sweet chilli sauce, and mayo – it’s surprisingly delicious. In fact, Leaf Eaters named it the Best Vegan Sushi Restaurant in town.
Something good to know is that they offer a daily special where you can eat as much as you like for only R199.
They’re open from Monday to Saturday, between 11.30am and 10pm.
If you want to get in touch, give them a call at 021 418 0064.

When I walk into this place, I’m instantly transported to the vibrant streets of Tokyo. Arata Koga, the talented chef behind this incredible restaurant, has truly created a masterpiece. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and dedication that goes into every plate of food.
The menu at Arata’s restaurant is a work of art. There are so many delicious options to choose from, it’s hard to decide where to start. One thing you can’t miss is the sashimi and nigiri. This incredible dish includes a variety of fish, including eel, mackerel, octopus, salmon, and tuna. Each piece is incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor.
One of my absolute favorite dishes at this restaurant is the Eel Dragon Roll. This mouthwatering creation features perfectly cooked eel and crunchy cucumber, all wrapped in a silky slice of avocado and topped with a luscious eel sauce. It’s truly a divine combination of flavors and textures.
But the culinary adventure doesn’t stop there. The menu also features a unique twist on ice cream. The “three kinds of ice cream” are unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. From the delicate green tea ice cream to the indulgent deep-fried version and the surprising kick of wasabi ice cream, these desserts are a must-try.

The Story of the Wise Monkeys
Once upon a time, there were three wise monkeys who captured the imagination of people all over the world. Maybe you’ve heard of them? They have a simple, yet profound message that seems to resonate with everyone.
The first monkey, Mizaru, had his hands covering his eyes. “See no evil,” he whispered. Mizaru knew that sometimes, it’s better not to see certain things. It’s important to protect yourself from negativity and harmful influences.
The second monkey, Kikazaru, had his hands covering his ears. “Hear no evil,” he whispered. Kikazaru understood that there are times when it’s best not to listen to gossip or hurtful words. By blocking out negative noise, you can maintain your inner peace.
The third monkey, Iwazaru, had his hands covering his mouth. “Speak no evil,” he whispered. Iwazaru recognized the power of words and the havoc they can wreak. He knew that it’s important to think before we speak and to use our words wisely.
These three monkeys were a symbol of wisdom and guidance. They reminded us to be cautious in our actions, to filter what we see and hear, and to be mindful of our words. They taught us that it is within our power to create a harmonious and peaceful world.
So, my friend, when faced with choices and challenges, let the wise monkeys be your guide. Embrace their teachings and consider their message of mindfulness. Remember to see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil. In doing so, you will find yourself on a path of wisdom and enlightenment.

They’ve got some funky names for their dishes too, like the Avalanche: eight California rolls with seared tuna and spicy mayo, or the Simo Salmon Surprise: a roll with seared salmon, avocado, mayo, and sweet chili sauce. Isn’t that awesome?
When you step inside, you’ll feel the chill and cozy vibe. The leather backrests are studded, the lights are big copper ones, and they even have a cool picture of Kid Goku from Dragon Ball Z. It’s the perfect place to relax and have a great meal.
