Hey there! My name is Derek Chester-Browne, and I’m the proud owner of this unique place. At Alex on Fire, we combine two of my biggest passions: classic motorcycles and delicious food. The result? First things first, our bistro is housed in a beautiful heritage building in Van der Stel. But it wasn’t always this way. Jill and I took on the challenge of restoring it from its derelict state, and now it’s a vibrant space that’s bursting with charm. As you step inside, you’ll notice the rescued teak bar counter from the old Alexander Hotel, which gives our place its name. And to enhance the atmosphere, we’ve added some motorcycle-themed decorations. It’s a true feast for the eyes!

Now, let’s talk about the food. Our talented chef, Scott Hendrie, has crafted a menu that will tantalize your taste buds.
