The event was held on Saturday, July 6th at the State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The World Luxury Restaurant Awards are highly regarded in the industry and are considered the ultimate recognition for luxury restaurants around the world. What makes these awards special is that they are voted on by guests, travelers, and professionals, ensuring that they truly represent the best in the business.

Guess what? Gåte, a restaurant in Stellenbosch, has just been named the 2019 Global Restaurant of the Year Overall Winner! And that’s not all – they also nabbed the title of 2019 Haute Cuisine Global Winner. Talk about impressive!

Our new menu will be available starting from 1 August. We’ve carefully selected 14 countries to take you on a journey of flavors, combining their culinary traditions with South African cuisine.
