Hey there! I wanna tell you about this cool art exhibition called “iiNyanga Zonyaka: Athi-Patra Ruga”. It’s curated by Nessa Leibhammer, Amos Letsoalo, and Karel Nel. This exhibition is all about honoring the amazing works of the late South African artist, Jackson Hlungwani. The exhibition showcases his exploration of Christianity through his unique sculptures. Let me tell you all about it. This exhibition, curated by Khanyisile Mbongwa, takes place in the stunning triple-volume atrium of Norval Foundation. It’s divided into three parts, each telling a captivating story. It’s like going on a pilgrimage with a young Xhosa woman who decides to leave her rural life behind in pursuit of success in the city. Can you imagine the journey she’ll go through? It’s truly inspiring!

But that’s not all. What makes this exhibition even more unique is the medium through which Ruga expresses his art: stained-glass windows. It’s a brilliant way to explore Southern African cosmology and the experiences of black, femme individuals in our modern world. Ruga’s work offers a fresh perspective that will leave you in awe.

It’s really cool because the collection is always changing and evolving. It’s curated by three awesome people named Owen Martin, Khanya Mashabela, and Karel Nel. They put together an exhibition called Recent Acquisitions by the Homestead Collection. There are four different groups of artworks on display, and each one has its own unique style and story.
