Winona Griggs

Welcome to MzansiBride!

Hi there! I’m thrilled to let you know that MzansiBride is currently looking for new members to join our team. We’re the top destination marketing guide to Cape Town, run by a group of passionate locals. Our main goal is to uncover exciting and life-changing experiences and share them with our readers. And let me tell you, storytelling is the heart and soul of what we do.

Now, if you’re as passionate about Cape Town and travel as we are, then you’re in the right place!

1. Join us as a PA to MD/ Office manager

In this role, you’ll be working closely with our Managing Director as their Personal Assistant and also taking charge as our Office Manager. Sounds exciting, right? Here are a few key details you need to know:

  • City: Cape Town with remote working options too
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time (with a three-month probationary period)
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years’ work experience
  • Level: Mid to senior
  • Remuneration: Competitive and based on market rates

Job description I’m on the hunt for someone really organized and dependable to help me out with running MzansiBride. You’ll be working closely with me and taking care of all kinds of tasks to keep things running smoothly. We need someone who can think quickly and find solutions, and who’s great at talking and writing to people. You’ll need to be a multitasker and really stickler for doing things properly.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Keeping track of my schedule
  • Helping me manage my sales pipeline
  • Talking and emailing with clients
  • Sorting through my emails and correspondence
  • Managing payments from clients
  • Are you interested in working as an Administrative Assistant? Well, if you are, I’ve got a great opportunity for you! Let me tell you all about it.

I manage the distribution of our company’s annual print publication. That means I make sure the magazines get into the hands of as many subscribers and retail outlets as possible. I work closely with our partners to ensure that every magazine is sold and delivered effectively. It can be a lot to handle, but it’s also really rewarding to see our publication in the hands of our readers!

I also handle and record staff leave. Whenever someone needs a day off or a vacation, I make sure it’s all documented and organized. It’s important to keep track of who is out of the office and when they’ll be back.

Another part of my job is compiling and filing contracts for new staff. Whenever we hire someone new, I make sure all the paperwork is in order. This includes collecting necessary documents and making sure everything is properly filed away. It might not sound like the most exciting task, but it’s an important part of keeping our team organized.

Lastly, I handle any additional ad hoc PA duties that come up. Sometimes there are unexpected tasks that need to be taken care of, and I’m the go-to person for that. It keeps things interesting, that’s for sure!

Here are the skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • A high school diploma and a relevant administration or secretarial degree or diploma would be a big plus.
  • You’ll need a driver’s license and access to your own vehicle.
  • It would be great if you have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. We want someone who knows the ropes!
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must. You’ll be communicating with a lot of different people, so being able to connect and work well with others is really important.
  • We need someone who is flexible and adaptable. Things can change quickly, so being able to go with the flow is essential.
  • You should be proficient in computer skills, particularly with Google Suite, Slack, and Asana. These tools help keep our team organized and connected.
  • If you have experience with financial administration, that would be a plus. It’s not a requirement, but it could come in handy.

So, if you’re interested in this administrative assistant role and you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity – apply today!
