If you’re a local from Cape Town who’s strolled along bustling Bree Street, chances are, you’ve fondly recollected the delightful bakery and coffee haven known as SMAK Delicatessen. Unfortunately, due to the upheaval caused by Covid-19, SMAK had to bid farewell to its loyal patrons. However, this change opened up a new chapter in the founder’s life.

Meet Katia Scherf, the visionary behind SMAK Delicatessen. When the shop closed its doors, Katia dived headfirst into her true passion: the art of creating exquisite pastries. Her journey led her to intern at the prestigious The Test Kitchen and receive training from internationally acclaimed institutions like the Prue Leith Culinary Institute and the École Nationale Supérieure de Pâtisserie (ENSP) in France. Fueled by her newfound inspiration and love for baking, she embarked on a personal project that has since blossomed into something truly special – Mixys, a virtual pâtisserie and cake shop.

“You know what I believe? It’s not about how pretty something looks, but how great it tastes,” shares Katia. That’s why at Mixys, we only offer the best quality treats. Our website has a wide range of options, from Smak’s famous salted-butter-caramel baked cheesecake to delicious oat crunchies and classic sponge cakes.

And that’s not all! We also have indulgent chocolate brownies, heavenly cupcakes, and mouthwatering cookies. Trust me, our triple chocolate cookies are absolutely incredible. Plus, we even have a selection of vegan treats, including a super delicious banana bread that pairs perfectly with a nice cup of tea.

If you’re in Cape Town, Mixys can deliver right to your door. They cover a wide area around the city, so chances are they can reach you. And if you live within a 4km radius of their kitchen in Green Point, you’re in luck! For orders over R500, delivery is free. If your order is under R500, there’s a small fee of R40. It’s a great deal considering all the delicious food you’ll be getting.

If you live a bit further out, within a 7km radius, you can still enjoy Mixys’ delivery service. Again, for orders over R500, delivery is free. However, if your order is under R500, the delivery fee increases slightly to R70. It’s a bit more, but still worth it to have Mixys’ amazing food delivered straight to your home.

The 4km radius covers areas like Green Point, Sea Point, Fresnaye, Bantry Bay, Mouille Point, Gardens, Vredehoek, Oranjezicht, Zonnebloem, Foreshore, and the CBD. If you’re in any of these neighborhoods, you’re in the free delivery zone!

The 7km radius expands the delivery area to include Clifton, Camps Bay, Bakoven, Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory, and Paarden Eiland. Even if you’re in one of these areas, the delivery fee for orders under R500 is still just R70.

If you prefer, you can also choose to collect your order directly from Mixys. This way, you can go pick it up yourself and save on the delivery fee. It’s a convenient option if you’re in the area and would rather grab your food in person.

No matter where you are in Cape Town, Mixys has you covered when it comes to delivering their delicious food. You can enjoy their menu from the comfort of your own home, without the hassle of cooking. So why not treat yourself to a tasty meal from Mixys today? You won’t be disappointed!

Within an 11km radius, there will be a delivery charge of R100 for all orders. Please note that there is a minimum spend of R500 for delivery. This radius covers areas such as Century City, Milnerton, Maitland, Mowbray, Rondebosch, Newlands, Claremont, Rosebank, Pinelands, and Bishopscourt.

For delivery, you can expect your order to arrive on Tuesday to Friday, between 8am and 10am, as well as between 3pm and 5pm. On Saturdays, the delivery times are between 8am and 10am.

If you prefer to collect your order instead, you can do so on Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 3pm. On Saturdays, the collection times are from 10am to 12pm.
