Guess what? The big day is happening in November 2023! I am super excited to let you know that we have just secured the lease for our amazing new location at the V&A Waterfront. Trust me, this place is going to be absolutely breathtaking!

Picture this: a brand-new building, currently being constructed right where the Cape Town wheel used to stand. And guess what? It’s got these incredible glass walls all around the rooftop, giving you the most spectacular views of Table Mountain, the working harbor, and the vast Atlantic Ocean. Can you imagine a more perfect setting? I certainly can’t!

So here’s the deal: we want our Cape Town restaurant to have a distinctive feel, something that captures the essence of this amazing city. Of course, we’ll still be sticking to the signature Marble style that everyone knows and loves. But we’ll be adding a special Cape Town twist to it, just to make it even more unique and exciting. Because when you step into Marble, you should feel the energy, the buzz, the sense of togetherness. And you know what brings people together? Fire!

A taste of Cape Town at Marble

Hey there, let me tell you about the exciting new food that’s coming to Cape Town! Although the menu is still a work in progress, it’s going to be similar to the one at Joburg Marble. You know, all those delicious dishes cooked on the fire! At the heart of it all, we have the amazing Grillworks, along with two Jospers and a wood-fired oven for the famous Marble focaccia.

Now, we’re making a few tweaks to the menu to bring in some lighter, more Mediterranean flavors. We might even have paella! Don’t worry, though, we’ll still have our bar-snack menu for you to enjoy. And exciting news for meat lovers in Cape Town – we’re introducing a selection of local and international aged meat cuts just for you. Plus, there will be plenty of fish options, perfectly grilled and bursting with light and fresh flavors.

We’ve put together a fantastic team for the new Marble in Cape Town. Leading the way in the kitchen is chef Matt van Niekerk, who’s currently rocking it at Marble Joburg. And we’ve got the talented head pastry chef Caitlin Natalie Drake joining him on this new adventure in Cape Town.

Get Ready for Style

I was thrilled to learn that the same team behind the award-winning Marble, Saint, and Zioux in Johannesburg will be bringing their unique style and visual impact to the new Marble in Cape Town. They have a knack for paying attention to art and detail, and they plan to adapt it to the Cape Town environment while taking things up a notch. I had a chance to talk with Irene Kyriacou, the interior director, who told me, “We will definitely incorporate Sarita Immelman’s stunning cornicing and Krisjan Rossouw’s art that have become synonymous with Marble. But we’ll also be collaborating with some new artists to bring a fresh perspective.”

As someone who loves to unwind with a glamorous sundowner, I’m particularly excited about the wraparound patio at Marble Cape Town. It’s bound to become the spot for enjoying Marble’s legendary cocktail energy. And with Marble’s commitment to premium quality, top-notch service, and luxurious finishes, I can already tell that Marble Cape Town is going to be something special. I just have to be patient and wait for its grand opening!
