“When French Champagne started becoming popular in the 19th century, the wines available were sweet,” says winemaker Lizemari Geldenhuys. “However, fruity classic sparkling wines like Nectar cap classique have always been a part of this style. What really matters is that the wine is incredibly fresh and vibrant, which is the most beloved characteristic of cap classique. This freshness comes from picking the grapes when they have high levels of acidity, giving the wine an energetic quality.”

• Vineyard Selection Tasting: Treat yourself to the wines made from meticulously chosen and cultivated vines. Available at R60 for three wines or R100 for five wines, these selections are sure to impress.
• Cellar Selection Tasting: If you’re looking for approachable and enjoyable wines, the Cellar Selection range is perfect for you. Offering reds, whites, and rosé, you can experience three wines for R45 or five wines for R75.
