Join me on the ISUZU Ikhaya lekhaya trip 3: Pretoria to Tibani, with Noko Moswete
Hey there! Want to hear about an incredible adventure? Well, I’ve got a story that will take you on a journey from Pretoria to Tibani. It’s all part of the ISUZU Ikhaya lekhaya trip, and guess who’s joining us? The amazing Noko Moswete!
Alright, let’s dive into this exciting escapade. We kick-started our adventure in the beautiful city of Pretoria, bustling with energy and vibrating with life. The crisp morning air filled our lungs as we set off on the open road, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead. With ISUZU as our trusty companion, we felt a sense of security like no other.
As we made our way towards Tibani, the landscape around us transformed. The city’s towering buildings stood tall, giving way to sprawling fields and breathtaking mountains. The changing scenes outside our window were like a living painting, each stroke revealing the true beauty of South Africa.
The road stretched out before us, inviting us to explore its twists and turns. And let me tell you, there were plenty of surprises along the way! We stumbled upon hidden gems, tucked away in quaint little towns. We met locals who shared their stories, their laughter echoing in our hearts. The taste of traditional cuisine danced on our tongues, leaving us craving for more.
But it wasn’t just about the sights and sounds. The journey was about self-discovery too. We discovered new strengths within ourselves, pushing our boundaries and embracing the spirit of adventure. It was a journey of growth, both individually and as a group.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow across the land, we arrived in Tibani. The beauty of this place was beyond words. It was a sanctuary for the soul, a place where nature thrived and time stood still. We were reminded of the importance of preserving our natural wonders and respecting the earth that nourishes us.
So, my friend, if adventure is calling your name, I encourage you to seize the opportunity. Jump into the ISUZU Ikhaya lekhaya trip and let it take you on a journey of a lifetime. Embrace the unknown, meet incredible people, and rediscover yourself along the way. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Join me on a roadtrip! In the last installment of the ISUZU Ikhaya Lekhaya series, I’ll be taking you from Pretoria to my family’s village in Limpopo. Get ready for an exciting adventure that includes a breathtaking mountain pass…
When you watch the final film in Getaway and ISUZU’s Ikhaya Lekhaya campaign, you’ll notice something unique. This time, instead of having “the talent,” stand-up comedian Noko Moswete, drive the ISUZU D-MAX, Noko guided us back to her village from the comfort of the passenger seat. “Because the queen doesn’t drive, darling,” Noko told us with a chuckle.
When Noko is around, there’s always laughter. She brings joy and happiness wherever she goes. She loves to sing and wear bright and bold fabrics. She has many friends and a loving family. Noko is especially passionate about empowering women, especially those who live in rural areas.
My plan for the trip was pretty straightforward: start early in the morning from Pretoria and head north to Tibani, which is located in Limpopo. Where’s Tibani? Well, depending on where you look, it’s either spelled Tibani or Tibane. It’s situated about 54 kilometers west of Polokwane,” Noko explained to me as we drove along the N1 highway, leaving Pretoria behind. “Even though it’s a small village that isn’t really known across the country, everyone who lives west of Polokwane is familiar with Tibani. We even have a shopping mall now.”
My family still lives in my hometown, and they had planned a special celebration for my homecoming. I’ve had a busy time touring the Savannah Comedy circuit, making appearances on Comedy Central Africa, and performing stand-up comedy at bars and theaters all over the country.
But there’s another reason why I’m heading back home. You see, I’m not just a comedian; I’m also an actress and a writer. And I’ve put together a drama group, which is something I’ve always dreamed of doing. I’m so excited because I get to help these talented individuals grow as actresses and musicians. I want to show the world what my people are capable of.
But first, I had to return to Tibani, and I had the pleasure of having my wingwoman, Lesedi Sello, as my driving companion. You see, Lesedi is more than just a friend to me. She’s like a sister, a soul sister.
Now, we both agreed that taking the scenic route is always more interesting. So, instead of sticking to the crowded N1 near Mokopane, Lesedi steered the D-MAX double-cab onto a different path. We had spotted a road on Google maps that seemed to promise an exciting adventure. And boy, were we right!
The unassuming R518, it turns out, hides a magnificent secret: one of the most breathtaking mountain passes in the entire country. As we traveled along, we were greeted by towering faces of igneous rocks, jutting out from the mountainside. The road itself clung to the edge of the mountain, offering us impressive views of the valley below.
But it didn’t stop there. We soon approached a graceful curve, where the road transformed into a bridge, elegantly arcing over the valley. It felt like we were suspended in mid-air, marveling at the beauty of the landscape below.
“Wow, these mountains look like they were carefully crafted by someone – they seem like they were made by hand!” I exclaimed, completely captivated by the breathtaking view from the window of the D-Max. Do you think I’m joking? Well, take a glance at the movie and remember this location: R518, to the west of Mokopane. You simply have to drive through it.
Embark on the three adventures in the Isuzu D-MAX and Getaway Ikhaya Lekhaya initiative, and you could have the chance to win an incredible five-night vacation for a group of four to the exquisite Seychelles, an Indian Ocean paradise.
