You’ll find yourself surrounded by umbrellas and wooden benches, perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh sea air. Just be careful of the seagulls – they can’t resist the delicious scent of the food either!
But that’s not all! After you’ve satisfied your appetite, why not take a stroll to the Bay Harbour Market, just a stone’s throw away? You’ll find all sorts of interesting things there to browse through.

Live music at Pakalolo
I recently went to Pakalolo, a local restaurant in downtown, for a night of live music. It was an amazing experience that I wanted to share with you. The atmosphere was incredible, with a lively and energetic crowd. The music was a mix of different genres, ranging from jazz to rock and everything in between.
When I walked into Pakalolo, I was immediately drawn to the stage, where the musicians were setting up their instruments. The anticipation in the air was palpable, and I couldn’t wait for the show to begin. As the band started playing, I was immediately captivated by their talent and passion.
What I loved most about the live music at Pakalolo was the way it brought people together. Strangers were dancing and singing along, united by their love for music. It was a beautiful sight to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together and enjoying themselves.
The band performed a combination of original songs and covers, keeping the energy high throughout the night. Each member of the band had a chance to shine, showcasing their skills in solos and improvisation. It was evident that they were not only talented musicians but also enjoyed performing together.
The venue itself was the perfect setting for live music. It had a cozy and intimate vibe, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The sound quality was excellent, allowing me to fully appreciate the music without any distractions.
I must admit, I am not usually someone who goes out to see live music. But after my experience at Pakalolo, I have realized what I have been missing out on. There is something so magical about being in the presence of talented musicians, feeling the music reverberate through your body.
So, if you’re looking to spice up your evenings, I highly recommend checking out the live music at Pakalolo. Whether you’re a music lover or just looking for a fun night out, you won’t be disappointed. Trust me, once you experience the energy and joy of live music, you’ll be hooked!

Drinks at Dunes Beach Restaurant and Bar
Hey there! If you find yourself in Hout Bay, there’s one thing you absolutely have to do – grab a beer at Dunes! This awesome spot sits right on the sand dunes overlooking Hout Bay Beach. Trust me, the locals love it, and you will too. Not only can you enjoy a refreshing drink while taking in the breathtaking views, but Dunes is also perfect for the little ones to have a blast. They’ve got a play area with a beach playground and even an old tugboat right in the center. How cool is that?
Imagine sitting on white-painted wooden benches and tables, feeling the warm sand beneath your toes. You can relax and unwind as you watch the kids play and let off some steam. It’s a magical spot that captures the true essence of Hout Bay.
Now, let me fill you in on some important details. Dunes is open from Monday to Friday, starting at 11am and closing up shop at 9pm. On weekends, you can swing by a bit earlier, as they open at 9am to cater to those early risers. Closing time remains the same at 9pm. So, whether it’s a weekday or the weekend, you can always count on Dunes to be there.
Oh, and if you need to get in touch with them, here’s how. Give them a call at 021 790 1876 or shoot them an email at bookings@dunesrestaurant.co.za. They’ll be more than happy to assist you and answer any questions you might have.
Now, I’ve told you all about Dunes, but that’s not the only thing worth exploring in Hout Bay. There are plenty of other attractions and spots to visit. One recommendation I have for you is Tintswalo Atlantic. It’s the perfect place for a cozy and luxurious stay while you’re in town. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on that.
Welcome to Cape Town Luxury Accommodation!
I’m so excited to share this exclusive five-star boutique hotel with you. It’s a hidden gem tucked away on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, right off Chapman’s Peak Drive. Believe me, this place is extraordinary! And you know what makes it even more special? It’s located within the Table Mountain National Park, which is one of South Africa’s most treasured World Heritage Sites. It’s almost like stepping into a dream.
Now, here’s something good to know. If you’re in the mood for a quick visit and a bite to eat with a jaw-dropping view, you can head to the ocean-facing dining room. They serve lunch to non-residents, but only on Wednesdays. After your meal, make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy some sundowners on the deck. Trust me, the views will take your breath away.
Just a heads up, though. Right now, Tintswalo Atlantic is undergoing some renovations. There was a terrible fire that destroyed parts of the main building earlier this year. But don’t worry, they’re working hard to reopen by October 2019. I can’t wait for you to experience the magic of this place.
Oh, and one more thing. Unfortunately, you can’t just pop in for a peek right now. So if you want to see the place before the reopening, make sure to call ahead and arrange a visit. They’ll even send a courtesy car to pick you up from the dedicated parking area and take you down the steep road to the water’s edge. How cool is that?
Before I wrap up, let me give you the contact details. You can reach them at 021 201 0025 or send an email to reception@atlantic.tintswalo.com. Outdoor adventures galore in Hout Bay
Embark on a thrilling shipwreck cruise
When I set sail from Hout Bay Harbour, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and curiosity. The journey took me past the playful seals at Duiker Island, or as everyone fondly calls it, Seal Island. As we approached Maori Bay, I couldn’t help but be captivated by its eerie atmosphere. Surrounded by the Karbonkelberg mountain range, this place has gained a reputation for its numerous shipwrecks. Bos 400, an old crane barge, is the star of this adventure. It became stranded during the powerful Cape storm of 1994. You’ve probably seen it in diving videos or on YouTube, but nothing compares to seeing it up close and personal. Drumbeat Charters offers an unforgettable tour where you can have a real-life encounter with this sunken treasure.
Important note: The boat is currently undergoing maintenance. However, it will be back in business by the first week of June. Since it’s quite windy and cold right now, the trips will mainly take place on weekends before 12.15pm and are subject to weather conditions.
Duration: 1 hour
Cost: R100 for adults, R50 for children, and free for children aged 0 to 2 years old.
Location: You can find Drumbeat Charters at Hout Bay Harbour, Hout Bay, Cape Town.

I suggest bringing along a flask of coffee and taking a slow walk along the shore, starting right outside the Chapman’s Peak Hotel and making your way down to the harbor pier and Mariner’s Wharf. You’ll get to soak up the breathtaking views and listen to the crashing waves. Plus, it’s a great way to get some exercise in.
Wondering where to find Hout Bay Beach? It’s located in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Make sure to mark it on your map!
