A Team of Exceptional Talent

Hey there! Let me introduce you to this awesome café I know. It’s a special place run by a group of friends and family, Ross and Lisa Cormack-Thomson. When you step inside, you’ll feel right at home with their warm and efficient staff.

We’ve got a talented bunch here. First, there’s Dustin, who makes the most incredible coffee. He’s been trained by the amazing folks at Truth Coffee Roasting Company. Then, we’ve got Dylan, who’s not only an art curator but also a postgrad student in Fine Arts Curating at UCT. And last but not least, there’s Glen, our resident chef. He trained at the prestigious Prue Leith Chefs Academy.

If things aren’t too busy, one of them might even bring your order right to your table. How cool is that?

Now, when it comes to ordering, you usually go up to the counter. You can choose to sit down and enjoy your treat right there or take it with you. They care about the environment, so they use eco-friendly brown boxes and carry bags. And here’s something interesting – they don’t give you a printed till slip. But don’t worry, if you really need one, you can always ask for it via email or SMS. Oh, did I mention they have free wi-fi too? It’s a neat little bonus.

Welcome to our charming little café! My partner, Lisa, and I have put a lot of love into creating this cozy space. Despite its small size, our café feels surprisingly roomy. We designed it with ample windows that flood the space with natural light. From here, you can enjoy beautiful views of Table Mountain and the peaceful street outside. Our neighbor, Natasha the hairdresser, even calls this street “Cape Town’s very own 7de Laan.” It’s like a little community with a coffee shop, Italian restaurant, salon, and even a mosque.

Hey there! Want to hear about Ground Art’s amazing coffee? Well, let me tell you, it’s something truly special. You see, they roast their pure arabica beans with love and care, creating a cup of joe that’s both rich and low in caffeine. Isn’t that great?

I should mention, they take sourcing seriously too. Their master coffee roaster in Pretoria imports only the finest coffee beans from a London agent. Right now, they’re serving up blends from Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, but soon they’ll have some fantastic South American options as well. So many flavors to explore!

Here’s another cool thing about Ground Art: they use Darling milk, which is hormone-free. It’s little details like this that show their commitment to quality.

Now, let’s talk about the drinks. You’ve got to try their Flat White and Espresso. Trust me, they’re fantastic. And as a sweet bonus, you’ll get a delicate biscotti with each. Glen bakes them using a recipe that’s been handed down to Lisa by her grandmother. It’s a real treat!

“The Wall” is a unique feature of the Coffee House that gives young, emerging artists an opportunity to showcase and sell their artwork. The display on “The Wall” changes every three weeks, ensuring that there’s always something new and fresh to admire. As December approaches, the gallery will feature more photographic pieces, offering a diverse collection of art.
