In 2017, I became the winemaker at Wildeberg. It was an exciting time, but also a challenging one. We only harvested 50 tonnes of fruit in that first vintage. It was a modest beginning, but I had big aspirations for the future.

Over the next year, we planted 10 hectares of Chardonnay, Semillon, Petite Sirah, and Syrah. It was a significant investment, but I knew it would be worth it in the long run. These vineyards would eventually provide us with the pure and distinctive flavors that define Wildeberg wine.

We recently completed construction on a state-of-the-art cellar that can hold up to 350 tonnes of fruit. It’s a remarkable facility that allows us to expand and take on new challenges. With this new cellar, I’m now focused on finding exceptional sites across the Western Cape. It’s important to keep the cellar busy and maintain a steady supply of high-quality grapes.

All six of our wines have received awards and are currently available for purchase. You can find them at our farm or select retailers throughout the country. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and we’re excited to continue making exceptional wines for years to come.
