When you arrive at Surfer’s Corner, cross the railway line to York Road. Look to your left, and you can’t miss the balcony of Empire Cafe. They’ve got the classics and the soulful treasures that will take you back in time. The second you step in here, you’re hit with the coolest vibes and sounds coming from the gramophone. When you walk past a shop and see a live sausage dog, a red dress, and a furniture store in the display window, you’ll know you’ve reached the second-hand bookstore on the corner. Take your time as you browse through the different sections of books, such as travel (which is always my favorite), drama, romance, thrillers, and anything else that catches your interest and makes you want to curl up with a blanket.
