1. BKhz – Johannesburg
Banele Khoza is a rising star who’s made a name for himself with his unique artistic vision and revolutionary approach to running a gallery. In the bustling city of Johannesburg, Khoza is the proud owner of BKhz, a contemporary art gallery that perfectly reflects his unwavering commitment to showcasing emerging artists and amplifying new voices in the industry.
At BKhz, Khoza has established a reputation for providing a platform to a diverse group of artists and embracing a wide range of artistic styles. His approach to curating exhibits is marked by a deep exploration of themes like identity, belonging, and social justice. Through thought-provoking exhibitions, Khoza challenges viewers to confront complex issues in fresh and unexpected ways. This allows for meaningful conversations and a deeper understanding of the world that surrounds us.
Hey there, let me introduce myself. I’m Khoza, and I wear many hats. Besides my role at BKhz, I’m also a highly accomplished artist. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition for my work. Back in 2017, I was honored to receive the Gerard Sekoto Award, a prestigious recognition of my exceptional talent and creative contributions.
But that’s not all! In 2019, I was also named one of the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans. It’s humbling to be recognized alongside so many talented individuals and it shows the impact I’ve made on the contemporary art scene.
I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my art in solo exhibitions across South Africa. Not only that, but I’ve also had the privilege of exhibiting in other countries too! My work has been displayed in galleries and institutions in France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. It’s been truly amazing to share my art with people from different parts of the world.
Art is my passion, and it’s something that I pour my heart and soul into. I believe that art has the power to connect people, provoke emotions, and inspire change. Through my work, I hope to make a positive impact and contribute to the vibrant art community.
Welcome to the BKhz gallery! My name is Banele Khoza, and I am passionate about showcasing cutting-edge artwork and sparking artistic dialogue. Through both my personal artistic endeavors and this gallery, I aim to leave a lasting impact on the South African art scene.
At BKhz, we believe in pushing boundaries and redefining the artistic narrative. We provide a platform for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work and inspire new perspectives. Our gallery serves as a dynamic hub for artistic exploration and societal introspection.
