Hey there! Let me tell you about the amazing food you’ll find at the new Magnolia Social Dining Lounge at Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa. It’s like heaven on a plate! Picture this: mouthwatering beef fillet that’s as tender as a cloud, crispy asparagus flowers that are deep-fried to perfection, and the tastiest smoked duck pancakes that are basically tacos in disguise. And that’s not all! They also serve these incredible potato creations smothered in mushroom sauce that will make your taste buds dance.

This fantastic restaurant is located in Somerset West, surrounded by majestic oak trees and next to the beautiful Erinvale Golf Course, Vergelegen, and Lourensford Wine Estates. It’s a whole new experience compared to the old Skellig’s Irish Pub that used to be here.

When I walked into the trendy and beautifully designed dining area, which was expertly curated by interior designer Clinton Savage, I immediately felt a sense of relaxation that made it different from the hotel’s upscale restaurant. However, don’t let the casual atmosphere fool you, because the food here is just as delicious and mouthwatering.

The dominant colors in this space are the vibrant emerald green and the rich burnt orange. These hues, combined with the warm and cozy lighting, create a welcoming and inviting ambiance. What caught my eye the most were the hexagonal brass fittings scattered throughout the room, adding an interesting touch. But my absolute favorite part of the decor is the wallpaper adorned with green foliage and mischievous-looking monkeys.

I had the pleasure of attending the relaunch of Erinvale and the grand opening of the Lounge. I was surrounded by fellow journalists, influencers, and our partners. To make it even more delightful, the Swiss-born General Manager of the hotel, Urs Kern, joined our table along with two of his colleagues.

As we chatted with Urs, his eyes shone with pride for the hotel’s latest addition. It was clear that he was just as thrilled, if not more, about the Social Dining Lounge as we were. We couldn’t help but notice the genuine love he had for Erinvale and its commitment to serving guests. Making others happy through exceptional service is what brings him joy, and he has every reason to be proud, especially when it comes to the magnificent cuisine crafted by Chef Stefan Bekker.
