We’ve always had faith in our Durbanville vineyards and their ability to produce top-notch wine. Seeing them recognized by the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon is an incredible validation of that belief.”

“After the event, the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon made an announcement. They said that even though South Africa is the fifteenth largest country in terms of vineyard plantings, it has become a major producer of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, Sauvignon Blanc is the top-selling wine and most exported variety in South Africa, with Durbanville being one of the main sources.”

The Concours Mondial du Sauvignon visited South Africa and brought along more than 50 wine experts. Most of these experts were from other countries and had never been to South Africa before.

“We absolutely fell in love with South Africa,” said Quentin Havaux, the director of Concours Mondial. “We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to Sauvignon Blanc SA and all the tasters for showcasing the best Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world.”
