They’ve put together a really impressive collection of wines, which actually won them the Grand Prix award at the 2023 Star Wine List South Africa competition, along with two gold stars!
But here’s the thing – Culture isn’t just about South African wine. They believe in giving you the chance to taste both local and international wines side by side, without breaking the bank. You can have a glass of amazing South African Cap Classique right next to a French champagne, all at a fair price.
They’ve got a great selection of 35 international wines by the glass, and another 40 fantastic local wines to choose from. So, you can try them all and really get a feel for just how incredible South African wines can be.

Hey there! Let me tell you about the exciting menu at the bar next door, Grub & Vine. Their short bar menu is all about good, honest food that’s perfect for a relaxed meal accompanied by a glass of wine. Imagine indulging in fancy pies made with braised short rib, savoring juicy steaks served with triple-fried chips, digging into delicious bangers and mash, and enjoying mac and cheese croquettes and fishcakes. And that’s not all! They also have charcuterie and cheese platters featuring cured meats from Richard Bosman and cheeses from local producers.
According to Matt, the chef, the bond between food and wine has been around for ages. To him, they go hand in hand. That’s why all the experiences you’ll find at their location on 103 Bree Street – Culture, Grub & Vine, the Blue Room, and the Chef’s Studio – focus on both. They offer a range of delectable options that perfectly complement their fantastic wine collection.
