A Fresh Start for Chefs Warehouse at Maison

Guess what? Chefs Warehouse at Maison in Franschhoek isn’t going anywhere! Despite the rumors and worries about its closure, this beloved restaurant will keep serving up delicious feasts. And you know who we have to thank for this exciting news? Seb Ackerstaff and Jessie Verdonschot, the talented entrepreneurs behind the Cocoon design brand.

Just a couple of months ago, people were heartbroken to hear that Chefs Warehouse at Maison might be shutting its doors for good. But Seb and Jessie had a different idea. They saw an opportunity to bring new life to this culinary gem. So what did they do? They decided to take over the Maison estate and give the restaurant a fresh start.

A couple of months back, me and my friend David had to make a really tough choice. We had to shut down our restaurant, Chefs Warehouse at Maison, for good. It was a bittersweet moment for us, but what happened next was truly heartwarming.

Our loyal customers, who absolutely adored our place, rallied together to save it from disappearing forever. It was incredible to see the overwhelming support we received. They didn’t want to let go of this cherished spot in Cape Town’s culinary landscape. And amidst this wave of affection, Seb and Jessie emerged.

Seb and Jessie were regulars at Chefs Warehouse at Maison, and they cherished the place as much as we did. They couldn’t bear the thought of it fading away, along with all the memories it held and the people it brought together. So, they made a remarkable decision – to keep its spirit alive.

Hey there! I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the future of Maison Estate. The new owners – Jessie and Seb – have big dreams for this place! They’re planning to give Maison Estate a fantastic makeover and breathe new life into it.

Jessie says, “We’re super excited about the amazing things we have in store for Maison Estate. First, we’ll be closing the restaurant for a little while to give it a fresh, vibrant atmosphere before the summer season starts. But that’s not all! Seb and I have some awesome plans in the pipeline that will completely transform not just the restaurant, but also the villa and the entire estate!”
