Exciting News: Cheetah Outreach is Moving to Paardevlei!

Hey there! I have some awesome news to share with you! Our dear friends at Spier Wine Estate have been our home for quite some time, but guess what? Cheetah Outreach is moving to a new place! But don’t you worry, it’s going to be amazing!

The new location at Paardevlei is simply stunning. Imagine waking up to breathtaking mountain views and being surrounded by nature all day long. Not only will it be a fantastic experience for us visitors, but the animals who call this place home will love it too! It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Anna Beckhelling, the founder of Cheetah Outreach, recently shared her thoughts on the move. She said, “While we’re a little sad to leave Spier behind, we’re also super excited about what Paardevlei has in store for us. This is a new chapter for Cheetah Outreach, and we can’t wait to see what this next phase of our journey brings.”

The project is going to be relocated to Heartland Properties’ Paardevlei site, which is just across from Somerset Mall and not far from the N1 highway. This new location has the advantage of being next to a restored wetland and features a water-body. We’ll be building a new running area right along the edge of the water-body.

Right now, the project is home to around 10 adult cheetahs. But it’s not just cheetahs that live here. You’ll also find other smaller predators, such as caracal, serval, bat-eared fox, and black-backed jackal. Before, these animals weren’t easily accessible to visitors. However, when they settle into their new home, you’ll be able to walk on pathways between the enclosures and see these amazing creatures up close. And don’t forget about the resident meerkats – they’ll certainly enjoy the extra attention!

Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for you! We’re building a fantastic viewing platform at the site. It’s going to have shaded seats and raised seats too, so you’ll have the perfect spot to check out the amazing animals, the spacious running enclosure, and the breathtaking natural scenery. Can you imagine how awesome that would be?

Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news about the new site I discovered at Cheetah Outreach. One of the standout features is the national monument known as Quinan House. This remarkable building, designed by Sir Herbert Baker back in the 1890s, has been generously donated to Cheetah Outreach for their administrative needs.

Quinan House is going to be a multi-purpose space. It will house the audio-visual room, gift shop, offices, and even a small tuck shop where you can grab some tasty treats like tea, coffee, sandwiches, and snacks.

But wait, there’s more! The historic building right next door is going to be transformed into a deli, cafeteria, and a fancy silver service lunch venue. So, if you’re in the mood for a delicious meal, you won’t have to go far.

And that’s not all! Wine enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that they can enjoy a wine tasting experience at the site. Flagstone Wines, which currently operates out of the old dynamite factory on the property, will be offering their fantastic wines for you to sample.

With all these amazing additions, visiting Cheetah Outreach is going to be an incredible experience in itself. You won’t need to combine it with a trip to Spier to have a memorable time. So, make sure to check out the new site and indulge in all the delights it has to offer!

Cheetah Outreach is a remarkable organization that was established in 1997 to raise awareness about the cheetah’s endangered condition. They have a comprehensive program focused on conservation and education. One of their successful initiatives is the Anatolian Shepherd Guarding Dog Project, which began in 2005. This project has proven to be an effective non-lethal way to control predators, benefiting both cheetahs and smaller animal species. Cheetah Outreach is also engaged in an active volunteer project, which you can learn more about.

A few weeks ago, we took Chobe, one of our resident cheetahs, to the nearby private beach. It was his first time experiencing sand from the sea, and he found it quite fascinating. Instead of running around, he was more intrigued by the unique texture beneath his paws. This little adventure showcased the immense potential that our new facility holds for the cheetahs.

Hey there! I have some exciting news to share with you. Heartland is helping with the big move, and the new Cheetah Outreach will be opening in early June. Isn’t that awesome?

Guess what? The prices will stay the same. It will still be just R10 to come and visit during the week, and only R5 on the weekends. That’s a pretty sweet deal, right?

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even have a personal encounter with an adult cheetah. It costs R110 for this amazing experience. And if that’s not enough, you can also meet two adorable cheetah cubs for just R220.

Are you wondering when you can visit? Well, the new Cheetah Outreach will be open every day from 10:00 in the morning until 17:00 in the evening. That’s plenty of time to have a wild adventure!
