Betway: Supporting African Communities Amidst the Pandemic
At Betway, we understand the challenges faced by communities in Africa during these difficult times. That’s why we have launched initiatives to provide support and assistance to those who need it the most.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus last year, many industries around the world have been severely affected by the restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the virus. As a result, the economies of developing countries have suffered greatly.
We want to make a difference by offering a helping hand. In Uganda, for example, we have donated 300 kilograms of rice to the Sports Press Association, providing much-needed sustenance to sports journalists who have been affected by the pandemic.
At Betway, we prioritize the safety and well-being of the communities we work with. That’s why we have made it our mission to provide them with the necessary support during these challenging times.
Recently, we donated 3.3 tons of rice to Uganda’s Covid-19 task force. We firmly believe that by helping to fulfill their basic needs, we can contribute to the overall safety and health of the community. Additionally, we have reached out to the teams we sponsor in Uganda to ensure that they have everything they need to get through these tough times.
In South Africa, we have also extended our help through Betway SA. Our online betting company donated two million rands to local charity organizations, with Afrika Tikkun being one of the beneficiaries. As a Jewish charity organization, Afrika Tikkun has been instrumental in providing support to those adversely affected by the pandemic in South Africa.
We understand the impact of the sports suspension on our operations, but we remain committed to supporting our communities in any way we can. It is important to us that we contribute to the well-being of those around us, even in the face of challenges. Together, we can overcome this difficult period and emerge stronger than ever.
Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe and take care.
I want to share with you something really amazing that the company I work for has been doing. It’s called the “Betway Cares Initiative” and it’s all about helping those who are struggling because of the pandemic.
One of the places we’ve been able to help is in Kenya. We teamed up with local organizations that know the community well, and together we provided care packages to people who really needed them. These packages included food and personal protective equipment.
Our priority has always been to support the most vulnerable communities. That’s why we make sure to reach out to those who need it the most in each region.
In Ghana, we decided to do something extra special. We delivered a check for 500,000 GHC to the country’s COVID Trust Fund. Ghana is a country where our sports betting company is well-known, and we wanted to show our support during the lockdown.
I’m really proud to work for a company that cares so much about making a difference in people’s lives. It’s not just about business for us, it’s about giving back and helping those who really need it.
Fortunately, when Betway made a monetary donation, it made a big difference in helping the task force connect with vulnerable people in our community. In addition to providing financial support, Betway is also using their social media accounts to educate and inform their followers about ways to stay safe. This major sports sponsor has also become an official sponsor of several soccer teams in Ghana.
These examples are just a taste of what Betway is doing in Africa. They have also teamed up with other organizations to bring the world together in the fight against the pandemic. However, their main focus is supporting communities in countries where they are allowed to operate. Betway takes the responsibility of supporting the teams they sponsor seriously and it is up to the communities to show their appreciation by washing their hands, wearing masks, keeping their distance, and staying safe.
