So, I was strolling through the CBD with a really cool group of photographers called I See A Different You (you should totally check out their awesome photos). We made a quick stop at this amazing outdoor museum, and let me tell you, it blew my mind. It’s located right in the windows of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo’s original attorney’s offices, which they opened way back in 1952. They’ve created a timeline there that tells the whole story of Apartheid, complete with jaw-dropping photographs and fascinating facts. And, get this, right across from the timeline, there’s a massive six-meter statue of Mandela himself, dressed up in his iconic boxing gear. It’s seriously impressive, let me tell you.

You know what’s even more impressive? The fact that Chancellor House was actually the first black legal practice in the whole country. It’s crazy to think about how far we’ve come. Now it’s a National Heritage Site, which means it’s super important and definitely worth a visit.

Oh, and before I forget, let me share a little description of the site straight from the pages of A Long Walk to Freedom. Just to give you a taste of what you’re in for when you check it out:

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the words “Mandela and Tambo” proudly displayed on our office door.
