Since then, I’ve added four more houses to the Oyster Collection, all located around the village. But Oyster Box Beach House is still the flagship, offering unrivaled lagoon and sea views and the option to rent individual rooms. I believe my houses strike the perfect balance between luxury and laid-back comfort. You’ll find big, cozy sofas that invite you to kick back and relax, as well as private courtyards for outdoor grilling and dining. There’s even a Piazzetta fireplace and a swimming pool for you to enjoy. The view from the apartments is stunning and you’ll have plenty of privacy. However, if you need any help, the friendly Boyds are there to assist you. They even let you use their garden courtyard if they’re not entertaining guests.

Along the way, we’ll make stops to spot some amazing birds. The river is absolutely mesmerizing, with its deep turquoise-green color and its winding path through steep banks. You’ll feel like you’re in a dream as you gaze at the stunning view of the horizon, outlined by euphorbias and aloes.

We have two camps by the riverside, and if you’re looking for a more exclusive experience, River Camp is the way to go. With only four tents and a cozy dining-lounge area, it’s the perfect option for a private getaway. Plus, the tent design is simply fantastic. Every game drive begins and ends with a boat trip, allowing you to enjoy a magical ride over the river, while marveling at the play of light on the water. It’s a true escape from the rush of the modern world.

Our staff is young and enthusiastic, and our rangers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. You’ll be amazed at how productive our game drives are, considering the relatively small size of the reserve (only 3,000 hectares). It’s a real privilege to see the magnificent rhinos up close.

Tent tip: If you’re looking for a romantic spot, our number four tent at River Camp is the one for you. It’s located on a promontory, with a river flowing on both sides. For a different experience, Forest Camp with its eight tents is also highly recommended. Tent number eight offers the best view of the river, unobstructed and stunning.

Cost: If you want to book the entire River Camp for an all-inclusive experience (game activities, meals, drinks), it will cost you R18,801.
